Cinco De Mayo!

It's Cinco De Mayo and instead of drinking margs and eating chalupas I'm studying...well not yet but I will be after this post.  I have an overstock of pics so I suppose I'll just post them all so I can get to my studying.  I am jobless for the summer as of now so I'll have more time to post after tomorrow night when my finals are DONE!  (Anyone have any job ideas?)

My fav, grilled with olive oil and parmesan

Homemade pizza with Keefer.  Pesto, tomatoes, olives, mozzarella, mushroom, onion, YUM

First experience with overnight oats.  Verdict?  Not so good.  There was pb in here and as always, I just can't get into pb in my oatmeal.  The strawberries and bananas were the best!

Best part of the salads was the avocado.  I cannot get enough of it lately!

Keefer and I made veggie lasagna but it didn't cut it for me.  I didn't like the cream sauce and I missed the tomatoness, if that's a word.

One of my new fav desserts...banana with choco syrup.  Simple and delishh.

My first LUNA bar experience and I loved it!  So good!  Can't wait to try the other flavors.

More asparagus!

Spinach, cheese, mushroom and onion omelette.  This grapefruit was SO delicious too.  Best part of breakfast!

Sushi craving at the grocery store = mistake.  I really should know better

Before I came back to Chi my parents took me on a big grocery shopping trip and I got a ton of yummy food.  I love having a stocked fridge!

Grilled cheese with tomato and MORE asparagus.  I really think I could eat asparagus at every meal.  Kinda looks like a face doesn't it??

I've been waiting to try this ice cream and luckily it was on sale.  This is 150 calories of delicious goodness.  I'm an ice cream LOVVVVER and now a Skinny Cow Ice Cream lover.  I cannot get enough!  It took all my power not to eat it all and save some.

Kinda looks like yesterday's bfast but with avocado, avocado and more avocado.  I promise there is an omelette under there somewhere!

Off to study for my LAST accounting exam.  YAHOO!

OLE!

Ra Ra Ra!

Like always, the agenda changed for yesterday.  We did try a new place for lunch which we have heard awesome things about.  Everytime I drive by Johnnies the line is out the door.  Keith and I decided we needed to try this place so we headed there for lunch.  It's a tiny hole in the wall but those are always the best places!

I got a combo italian sausage and beef.  Yummm!

We weren't planning on ordering an italian ice in the middle of winter but we were told we had to and thank goodness we did!

We were planning on trying a new chicken recipe for dinner however we got talked into going out for happy hour sushi at Ra.  They have happy hour six days a week!  I had hot sake and a lemon drop martini.  Sorry for the sideways pics!

We were seated at the bar so it was fun to watch them make the rolls!

Keith and I got lobster spring roll appetizers.  SO good.

I also got an uchi no salad.  I LOVE ginger salad dressing.  Does anyone know any good recipes?

I ordered the tootsy maki and Keith ordered the Viva Las Vegas.  Both were great!

Flash ruined the pic!

For dessert we tried one of Carrots N' Cake's ideas and it was great!  We had peanut butter on a slimwich half topped with chocolate chips.  It was great, I wish I had just toasted the slimwich.

Last night we headed out to Lincoln Park for some drinks so this morning we woke up wanting some yummy french toast.  Haven't had the healthiest breakfasts the last two mornings but they sure have been yummy.

Today we are going to try our new dinner recipe because we didn't last night.  First we are going to go check out all the buzz about Avatar!

Sushii and Wii

My day began with a bowl of crispix (fav cereal) and my coffee.  Then it was time to hit the gym where it was busy AGAIN!  Honestly, what was everyone doing there at noon??  Although it wasn't quite as busy as last night and I didn't have to wait for a treadmill it was still packed.  At least today there wasn't pizza tempting me under my nose while working out.  (Forgot to mention that last night...it was Monday night pizza night at the gym, ummmmmm????)  Anyways, I had a pretty good workout.  I'm still loving my new shoes!  I used to always get Nike's but I finally couldn't take the pain I was getting in my knees and ankles after I ran and went to a running store where they pointed out my problem (I, along with 47% of the population, run with my feet facing inward causing my knees to twist.  There is a name for it which I can't remember now.)  I now run in Brooks and am LOVING them so far.  So far they have been great!

After the gym I headed over to Kiki's to catch up, play Wii (I want one oh so much!) and eat her homemade sushi.  She started making this when we lived in 225 (college house) and I swear she gets better every time!  I need to go buy the supplies for myself and try on my own when I get back to Chi!

She hasn't started using raw fish yet, but next time?  Mmmmm, cucumber, avocado, Krab, carrots.

Mmmmm, sticky rice.  We also tried eel sauce which is a big thumbs up!

Her yummy California roll.  (Love her cute little cherry apron, how Mittenish!)

Got creative and wrapped the roll in carrot and cucumber shavings

Miso soup...now to perfect the ginger salad dressing....

How cute is this?  I always feel like we are actually out to eat at a sushi place!

The chef herself!

I love having Kiki make me sushi however, I think I need to venture out and start on my own when I make it back to Chi....in a week!  Yikes!

For desert we had yummy Weight Watcher Fudge Pops....for less than one hundred calories.  Thanks to Kiki and her mom for introducing them!

Ending the night with an orange,

Tara (:
